U.S. Naval Academy Vaccinates Willing Students for COVID-19

Nearly all U.S. Naval Academy students who wanted a COVID-19 vaccine have received their first dose. And remaining midshipmen — those who may have had COVID-19 — will be receiving the vaccine this week, Military.com reported.

The school began vaccinating midshipmen mid-March on a voluntary basis. Midshipmen were vaccinated for COVID-19, in part, to allow them to do summer training, while midshipmen who decline the vaccine will be handled on a case-by-case basis.

The school continues to lift restrictions implemented after a COVID-19 outbreak starting in late February.

Midshipmen started in-person classes on March 29, after having attended classes virtually while under restrictions.
