Retired United States Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Vincent Stewart was recently appointed to the American Public University System’s (APUS) Board of Trustees.

Throughout his career, Stewart has served as the Deputy Commander of United States Cyber Command and the Director of the Defense Intelligence Agency. Additionally, he gave intelligence briefings to Congress, a U.S. President and National Security staff, according to APUS.

After a 38-year career in the military, Stewart retired in 2019. He currently works for Ankura in Washington D.C. as the chief innovation and business intelligence office.

“APUS has a proven history of providing high-quality, inclusive, online higher education to military students and those who serve our communities,” said Stewart in a statement. “I am excited to join the Board because of their important role in supporting military learners. I look forward to supporting APUS’s mission and developing new ideas for how we’ll continue to raise the bar, for years to come.”
