Military Kids and College Fairness: The Playing Field Isn’t Level for the Sons and Daughters of Service Members

Military children make countless sacrifices during their high school years. Most spring from the fact that the military lifestyle requires frequent moves for most of us who serve; as a result, our children attend as many as four high schools in four years.

This directly impacts their ability to stay competitive for admission to our nation’s top colleges and universities. Yet military children remained invisible during our larger national conversation earlier this year about the fairness of college admissions.
