The Character of Discharge (CoD) that you received from your military service may have an effect on the types of services that you may be eligible for when applying for benefits with the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). Many veterans’ benefits from disability to education depends on the type of discharge you receive.
The military discharge is defined as the military member is released from their obligation to continue service in the armed forces.
