Members of Congress might not see eye to eye on many issues, but at least they can agree on expansion of the GI Bill that boosts education aid to veterans and their dependents, Purple Heart recipients, and members of the National Guard and Reserves.
The bipartisan legislation, dubbed the “Forever GI Bill,” passed the House unanimously late Monday, received blanket approval from the Senate Veterans’ Affairs Committee on Wednesday, and is headed to a Senate floor vote for final approval in a matter of days.
