Under the grant, National Guard members, active-duty U.S. military members and reservists who use military tuition assistance (TA) can complete their undergraduate or master’s degree programs tuition-free. The funding covers more than TA’s cap of $250 per credit hour, APUS reported.

In addition, textbook and technology fees are waived. The grant also applies to military spouses and dependents.

“We are proud to help so many of our country’s service members learn while they protect our freedom day in and day out,” said APUS President Dr. Wade Dyke in a statement. “We have a strong, 30 track record of making higher education more accessible to our military. The Freedom Grant builds on that commitment.”
