Democrats Urge DeVos to Act on Debt Relief

Senate Democrats are pushing Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to address the more than 87,000 applications for debt relief pending at the Department of Education, The Washington Post reported.
The department has the authority to forgive student loan debt for borrowers who were defrauded by colleges and for-profit institutions, but no applications have been approved since President Donald Trump took office, per The Washington Post.
