Purdue University says the U.S. Department of Education has signed off on the college’s plan to buy Kaplan University, a for-profit, online school.
The federal department’s determination, issued after a review of a “pre-acquisition application” submitted by the parties, confirms the federal regulatory agency will give its approval when the sale goes through, Purdue said in a news release.
