Coding Bootcamps Accepts GI Bill

Software coding bootcamp PDX Code Guild is now able to accept the GI Bill for educational assistance for veterans who want to learn software development.

While the school is the first in Oregon to meet the Bill’s requirements, other local schools are expected to follow suit in the near future, said David Molina, founder of Operation Code.

Molina, an Army veteran and developer, has worked since 2015 to try to help code schools and bootcamps work within the GI Bill parameters. He launched the nonprofit Operation Code to enable these changes and to steer veterans toward software development training and tech jobs.
