SACS: U of L May Have Serious Accreditation Issues

FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) — The University of Louisville, whose governing board has been in limbo for months through a series of executive orders and legal challenges, now has something else to worry about: its status as an accredited university.

The president of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges says Gov. Matt Bevin’s order to abolish and replace the university’s board of trustees, and his “apparent involvement” in the negotiation of former President James Ramsey’s resignation, has interfered with the board’s decision-making authority.
