DOE to Cut Student Aid to For-Profit Medtech

The Education Department will cut off federal student financial aid July 31 to three for-profit medical education campuses, saying the schools exaggerated their job placement rates.

An investigation by the U.S. Department of Education into Medtech Colleges, a for-profit medical institute that has campuses across the USA, found three campuses in Falls Church, Va., Silver Spring, Md., and Washington, D.C. overstated job placement rates and misrepresented the types of jobs students got after graduation.
